Recently, I was asked about the myorgbook project, specifically; where are the files? Here is a short history of the project as I know it:

Actually the story of MyOrgBook is an interesting one of a project gone wrong or maybe better, off track. Brian Kestenholz originally started this project. He registered the domain names, wrote the code, and promoted it at any free script site he could find. Sometime in the late 90's or maybe 2000, he offered the project and domain names on E-Bay where I came into possession of everything.

After a few months we had the transfers completed and work was progressing with code cleanup, creating a templating system and implementing a multi-language variable replacement system. This was being coded by myself and Michael Bos. In 2002 or so, family and real world work demands caused me to turn everything over to Michael Bos who by now had registered the myorgbook.org domain. Michael continued making improvements, fixing things as PHP evolved, working on security, etc. Since then, the code has stagnated and I believe the project is pretty much dead, in any event it has been left very far behind by other projects that it would be just better to go to another project.

I have been offered the opportunity to sell the domain over the years, but all offerers wanted something for nothing, the last offer was from a guy in Europe who cross-links the various sites he owns to each other with all the sites having Google Adword advertising on each one (no content, just ads displayed when you follow a script site referral to the page or search engine result), so the better thing for me, is to keep the domain active and hosted on a server which costs me nothing to add it, as another domain to my allowance of 50.

That being said, a good point was brought up, I have added the last project files below.

Incidently, if you got here by following a link from another site, those free script sites require a login and password to change the listings, none of which I have for the listing created by Brian. Those sites also do not respond to e-mails requesting access to projects which may have changed hands and seem to have no desire to remove listings when requested to do so...

Here is the last version of the files: myorgbook-V2.8.tar.gz
